Who we are.

The Vision for Helensburgh Local Place Plan is a community-led initiative, spearheaded by a dedicated group of local organisations and volunteers.

At the forefront of this effort is the Helensburgh Community Council, which is acting as the primary coordinating body. They are working in close collaboration with other key community groups, including Plastic Free Helensburgh, Helensburgh Community Hub, and Destination Helensburgh. These organisations bring diverse perspectives and expertise to the planning process, ensuring that a wide range of community interests are represented.

While the initiative is community-led, it's important to note that it's being developed with the knowledge and support of Argyll and Bute Council. The local government's planning and development departments are providing guidance to ensure that the Local Place Plan aligns with broader regional planning frameworks.

However, the vision, ideas, and priorities expressed in this plan will come directly from the people of Helensburgh. This collaborative approach allows for a grassroots initiative that can effectively influence official planning processes, bridging the gap between community aspirations and local government decision-making.
